- The House Energy & Water Appropriations Committee meets at 5:30 pm ET today to act on its version of the Corps’ funding bill for FY19. You can find the text of the draft bill and watch the “markup” meeting here.
Note: I taught government at the high school and undergrad college levels before I came to DC many years ago, and I teach grad students now. But it’s hard to teach things like this. When it comes to congressional appropriations for the Corps, it’s NOT the bill that’s very important, it’s the REPORT. That’s what lists specific line item funding. So you can read the draft bill following the link above, but you won’t see the committee report until the full House Appropriations Committee has acted on it – probably later this week.
- The Senate Environment & Public Works Committee will hold a May 9th 10am hearing on its WRDA18 draft bill. So far, there’s no text of that bill and no list of who’s testifying. Click here to stay up to date.
- Annual Section 7001 Report of the Assistant Secretary-Public Comment Period is Now Open: If you want to propose a new Corps study, the authorization of a project that is being studied, or a new policy affecting the Corps, click here.
